In Defense of Reverend Wright

Wed Mar 19, 2008 at 06:12:40 PM PDT

It really looks like I picked a great week to tune out the Presidential campaign. Similarly, with no major contests until my birthday (April 22), I must assume that a large number of my fellow Americans are doing the same.

However, I am now fully engaged again. Having reviewed the incriminating footage and seeing a large number of bloviators do what they do best on the MSM tube, I think it is about time to put forth a defense of Reverend Wright. Surprisingly, I have only heard minor hints of this defense in the media itself, where, as usual, most of the commentators merely piled on to the on-going narrative with little critical thought or perspective-shifting involved.

Ugliness

Sat Jan 12, 2008 at 05:56:00 PM PDT

Hillary tearing up and Edwards responding with "strength is what this country needs in a leader."

Reports of ill-advised or downright racist comments being broadcast by various surrogates.

Lawsuits contesting the validity of Nevada's caucus process.

False "rumors" of Barack Obama's past schooling and religious adherence, not too mention false assessments of his abortion records.

Democratic candidate supporters confessing they could not vote for the Democratic nominee if that ends up being "the other guy."

Allegations of dirty tricks by both victors' campaigns in Iowa and New Hampshire.

What am I missing?

It's. Ugly. Out. There.

Enough already!

Mark Penn: Yuk

Thu Dec 13, 2007 at 07:19:29 PM PDT

Disclaimer, I am an Obama supporter, though not one of those crazy ones. I'm still reasonably rational.

I don't know how many people watch Tweety every afternoon, but I must humbly submit that I do, especially after a debate. The good thing is that I am wise enough to think for myself (no matter anyone else may say) and can see through anyone's BS in the MSM. Thanks, fellow Kossacks and, unfortunately, law school.

However, how many people out there saw the Tweety-fed debate between Axelrod, Penn, and Trippi? My impressions? Axelrod: happy and comfortable. Trippi- wanting to be on the screen. but uncomfortable because he stood next to: Penn.

Mark Penn Hardball

Thanks for the find, C Mac. My internets is acting up tonight.

And Mark Penn's demeanor, to me, ranked with the worst bullies and arrogrant pricks I have ever come acrossed in my lifetime.

The Killings Continue

Thu Dec 06, 2007 at 08:51:11 AM PDT

As a reprieve from further law final studying (I'll be thankful when it is Christmas), I've notice that there is a definite lack of postings considering the problem with continued mass killings (mass = greater than 2 people at a time) in places of, supposed, peace in the United States.

Some could argue that it would be a just dessert to the citizens of a country that mindlessly invaded another one on the other side of the world, inflicting, literally, untold numbers of casualties on an otherwise peaceful populace, and mixing up a hornets nest of insurgency and civil war in the process.

RNC Protest Idea

Tue Oct 02, 2007 at 07:04:43 AM PDT

I'm writing this primarily to get this idea out into the realm of possibilities for the Republican National Convention next year, to be held in my hometown of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The intent of this diary is merely to posit an idea for protest, that is effective both in the number of participants and it's perceptive power via coverage through the media.

This is my first stab at a Kos diary, so please bear with me. I'm merely looking for a forum of ideas so we do not end up with a situation like Chicago, 1968.

Besides, noisy, unorganized protestors only provides the Right with more fuel to drive over us with in the media. Instead, I take a page from the Mahatma and Thoreau, and advocate for a noisy (through silence) display of civil disobedience.

Idea below the fold...
